android on galaxy S9 phone, windows 10 pro on laptop (dell XPS 13/9360)

hi, all –

this is a really stupid Q, i’m sure, but i am the last person in the USA to get a cell phone and a laptop, both of which i am getting next week, and therefore i am barely tech-savvy about these (tho i have had a desktop for years), so please excuse what i am sure is my obvious ignorance about cell phones and laptops.

(1) i have several avast apps on my PC, but am i correct in assuming that i still need to buy avast mobile security apps for my cell phone and laptop?

(2) since my cell phone is android and my laptop is windows, am i correct in assuming that i will need to buy two separate versions of avast mobile security, one for each device?

thanks very much!

Hi Susie, in short, for Windows devices use Avast AV - for Android devices use Avast Mobile Security.

i know this is a REALLY stupid follow-up, but you’re saying that my laptop is NOT a mobile device, am i correct?

thanks for indulging me, i wasn’t kidding when i said i was obviously ignorant.

Avast Mobile Security will only work on Android devices. Avast Antivirus Free, Avast Internet Security, etc. runs on Windows machines only. If you want a paid subscription for either of these two types of devices, they are separate purchases.

OK, got it. thanks so much!
