annoying Avast popups on search results

I’ve just got Win7 and I freely admit that there are a lot of things I need to change/add/delete. I changed from AVG back to Avast 6 (long story) and now find that on my Google search results page Avast puts up these big popups telling me if a site is safe or not. Now I want to know of course but these popups are way too big. Can I make them smaller or even dispense with them altogether?

I’d appreciate some help please.

have you looked in the “help guide” top right corner when you open avast ?

I guess you’re talking about WebRep…
Just disable/uninstall it, if you don’t want it.

You are inadvertently hovering the mouse pointer over the webrep icon in the search results. They should disappear quickly after moving the mouse pointer of the icon.

That is the whole point of the webrep to give you an idea about the site before visiting it.

I already have a safe website notifier and didn’t know what WebRep was. I found it in Additional Protection but how do I uninstall it please?

In: Additional Protection - WebRep
Just uninstall it for the related browser(s).

Here is additional information for you: https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=740. Just to let you know that in the near future, Avast plans to add a feature to check for virus detection for sites while using the WebRep. You can always reinstall in the future if you like.
