There is already an extensive topic on this already open, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=99970.0.
You don’t have to upgrade or do anything, the modified auto update notification will close as normal.
thanks for reply,
but i like automatic update pop up, the only one annoying me, is the one i give red line… that’s all broo… thanks again…
The second option doesn’t remove the auto update notification, it just reduces the time it is displayed.
so, the conclusion, i can only reduces the time of that pop up? very sad,
i have to reinstall my avast then to make that pop up disappear -_-
by the way, thanks for reply…
A reinstall won’t do anything as this is currently in the auto update notification, so unless you aren’t considering auto updating your virus definitions it will still be there. That said I have yet to see it on my systems.
DavidR: I know I’m a newbie so probably shouldn’t be typing…that said, I think there was a misunderstanding. Gufron refers to Upgrade Pop-Up and your replies seem to be referring to Updates (new pgms, new definitions I think). ???
If I’m off base, my apology for butting in.
It isn’t an Upgrade pop-up specifically, but a modified auto update notification pop-up. This modified toaster popup screen (double height) is displayed as a part of the auto update notification.
This is why the settings I mention will effect it depending on your choice, not to display it at all or reduce the duration it is displayed.
Gufron, you can turn off the slider or just allow yourself to ignore the ad. Those are really your only two options. You can’t remove the ad only. To disable, go to Settings>Updates>Details>Show notification after automatic update, and uncheck. If you wanna see what definition version you have, just right click the ball in the sys tray and click “About avast!”
Which is what I said in Reply #1 and Gufron responded to in Reply #2.
