ok since last week i cought this virus , ive reinstalled my system like 10 times already and it always comes back
its infecting every file in the C:\WINDOWS\system32
so avast de,letes them and the system stops working
can any1 tell me how to get rid of this
the virus ususally comes back just after installing service pack 3 for xp pro, ive boot scanned my pc already aloads of time, i tried different trojan removers , but still no luck
Download then install it then update its definitions with its Update function then do a Quick scan and let it remove what it finds and a reboot may be required to remove locked files.
To be protected against future (re-)infection it is of the utmost importance you have your windows version updated with the latest Service Pack(s), have all issued patches installed, are not going around the Internet with an outdated or not fully patched vulnerable browser, and make sure that all the third party software (Sun Java, Adobe reader and what have you) on it is of the latest version and fully patched, a really good tool to check that and keep checking that is Secunia PSI, to be downloaded from here: http://secunia.com/PSISetup.exe
First you could do an online scan at their site: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/?task=start with the Secunia Online Software Protector to see that you actually need this grandiose security freebee aboard your machine,
and i tried to follow everything, i used all trojan removers , different antiviruses and everything mentioned really, i reformatted my pc now, it was infecting all files tbh everything on my pc , i found on another forum that it cant really be removed and the best option is to totally format all hard drives and usb plugged in at the time, so thats what i did, when after reinstalling my pc over 20 times it was comin back each time
I’ve been having problems with this JunkPoly also.
Be very, very wary of this little bugger. It is nasty, and Avast! is not able to clean it. Even when Avast! detects the infected files, it does allow the virus to continue infecting. THe list of infected files grew by the hundreds in a few minutes.
Other antivirus software identifies it as Virut.CF (possibly following Symantec’s signature). It attaches to exe and scr files and spreads very, very fast in your computer.
I wasn’t able to clean it (after having Symantec, Avast, DrWeb and Kapersky looking at the infected files). I had to restore my hard disk from a backup.
