I have uninstalled the “Standard Shield” but this not resolved the problem. But if, instead, i uninstall the “Internet Mail” provider (i think you wanted to say this  the error messages disapper.

Now, i understand that this not a so big problem and my Avast configuration is somewhat atipical, but i think that the problem i posted in this thread is a bug (the fact that no error message appears if i login as administrator seems to confirm that). The solution you suggested is a workaround that require to completely remove a functionality. I’ve installed the 3 providers i’ve reported because in some circumstances they could be useful, in particular if i want to test other mail client or if i want to test program that i don’t trust. Before 4.5 all i had to do was to start the provider(s) i needed, without warning/error at the next login. I understand if the error/warning appears trying to stopping the provider or if another program try to do the same thing, but not if i manually configure Avast to do that.

However thanks all for advices and i hope that this little problem will be fixed. I think Avast is a good antivirus and i’m happy if i could partecipate to make it a better product.

Cheers.

Cesare.
