I found that switching to another Anti-virus provider and deleting Avast completely finally did the job.
This is exactly why I switched to a new provider: I would get a Fxxxing pop–up in the most importune times and the embarrassment was exponential. I called Avast and the guy told me they could do nothing about it. It PO’d me to no end that Avast would “*break in” to my home or business without permission or contract. I will not stand for this from anyone, even the Police have to have a GD search warrant to enter a private premise. But Avast must think they are God and don’t need to be respectful of my personal space.
Avast you AH you could have sent me a GD email!!! Now you’ve lost a customer for good.
*Define break–in: the act or crime of illegally entering a house, building, etc.,
