Anonymox plugin self-check problem

Hi :slight_smile:

As i’m pleased to use a lot of plugin for firefox, Anonymox is a good thing to check really if the computer is hidden by a VPN and different IP :wink:

But Since Yesterday, it doesn’t wor at all :o

When i start firefox, anonymox is checking himself to his web site to see if my firefox can work correctly ???

But Avast block it, as it said that it’s a bad and dangerous URL :-\

The result is the plugin is out of order, Avast blocked it :frowning:

Sorry i didn’t have it to do a screen capture…

I know that’s a safe plugin, and the selfchecking is the procedure i guess is a good thing.

So any help would be appreciated to make it work fine after check or uncheck option into Avast.

I think it is a plug-in problem. I’ve been using it for a while and get error messages from them, not Avast.

Well,

Few week ago, it was not perfect…

But the message error is from Avast on the bottom right corner in something like red colour warning.

It says that " Anonymox sef check redirecting site is a bad url and dangerous think "…

Will try to restart firefox, and try to catch the screen alert :stuck_out_tongue:

Where you being redirected to another url? Yes, a screenshot would help. If not possible, right click the Avast toolbar on the bottom of the monitor and type “Show last popup message.”

Here’s below the screen shoot alert from Avast it’s for all website opened, as Anonymox is cheching that if it can works without problem. :-\

At this hour i don’t use any private IP, only mine, Anonymox is in standard mode: OFF.

As i’m French customer, it’s in French but anyone pro of avast or super avast forum poster could help me :smiley:

To clarify, you have disabled (turned off) Anonymox now, and Avast still gave you this popup.

What version of Firefox are you using?

What version and product of Avast are you using?

Well,

Firefox 13.0.1

Avast 7.0.1456 with last viral base.

Anonymox is alway in mode off when i launch Firefox and when anonymox plugin want to check if anonymox can work without problem it’s to this moment that the screen alert appear :o

I active Anonymox(Avast didn’t say anything)

Will post this answer normally with another ip than my personal. :wink:

Edit after post: Avast didn’t show any warning :frowning:

The Ip changed to a foreign IP not my personnal.

Don’t understand why Avast show a warning when i start Firefox and after nothing >:(

The person who runs the software is on the forum now asking why it is flagged as malware. We just scanned his website. Here is the link to his thread that you may want to follow: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=100974.0. It is not you with the problem, it is his web site.

After Anonymox changed to the foreign IP, is this when the Avast popup happened? What country was the IP?

Hi,

The warning screen only appear when firefox start, at this time Anonymox is not active it’s in standard mode OFF.

When i activate Anonymox Avast didn’t say something, and when i changed IP nothing too the current IP is located somewhere close to Gulf of Ginea :o

Will change again IP to see if something arrive :stuck_out_tongue:

No alert the currend IP is located in USA in Arizona :wink:

Will reboot firefox with Anonymox active to see if Avast say something ;D

Active or not it’s the same warning message???

So Anonymox is working fine, but i think that’s a false positive no :o

We don’t know if it’s a false positive (FP) or not. Did you see the other thread? Until we know for sure, I would not use Anonymox for now and keep it disabled. You can always turn it back on later.

Got a reply from avast contact form, false positive will be removed.

With the VPS Udpate this morning non Avast alert when Anonymox plugin is in Off mode or active mode ;D

So solved problem no 8)
