Another anythicago/simplesitescan/alwaysisobar etc. issue

Hi everyone,

I’m currently facing the same issue as most other people here. On startup, Avast tells me it blocked a svchost.exe from accessing anythicago.com or simplesitescan.com.

I added my logs as described in the sticky, except for aswMBR, as it crashes while scanning the GAC (Global Assembly Cache and a Visual Studio related path, I have VS2013 installed)

I hope you can still provide help.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

[*]Right-click on
https://sites.google.com/site/cannedfixes/farbar-recovery-scan-tool/FRST.gif
icon and select
https://sites.google.com/site/cannedfixes/home/hosted-images-tools/RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
[*]Press the Fix button just once and wait.
[*]If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
[*]When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Thanks for responding so fast. I attached the Fixlog.txt

How is your PC behaving now?

It seems like it worked, no more alerts from Avast.

As I never had a virus in my life, I’d like to ask how this seemingly common infection spreads. I’ve read something about a certain VPN and I’m indeed using a VPN for a few weeks now. However it is not the VPN provider mentioned in the article.

Thanks.

This was only attempt to infect your PC, but Avast blocked it, there wasn’t any infection.
