Another aswsp.sys problem

I installed Avast without any problems, but I then had to go back to an earlier image of my system before Avast was installed.

When I tried to reinstall Avast, the machine froze, and since then I have not been able to install Avast.

The attempts to install end with the message that the machine is being shut down to prevent damage, and it refers to aswsp.sys.

The specific error message is, “DRIVE UNLOADED WITHOUT CANCELING PENDING OPERATION.”

I have used your removal tool in safe mode several times now to remove Avast before attempting to reinstall it, but it still does not work.

I do the not have any other active antivirus software.

what os you using?

what version of avast was you trying to install?

version 7?

free/pro/suite?

what was your previous antivirus before avast and how did you uninstall it?

Does this mean that there is an inactive antivirus on the system? as that would have to be removed also and then clean off the remnants with the vendors removal tool.
