It is a free security tool that checks websites for hidden dangers like malware and exploits. LinkScanner has been developed by Exploit Prevention Labs and should be competitive with MacAfeeSiteiteAdvisor in the near future. SiteAdvisor, that was acquired by McAfee’s, checks searchengine’s results for malware etc like Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
LinkScanner works a bit differently by checking continuously the dangers of a website, so it is more up-to-date than MacAfee’s tool is. At this time LinkScanner is a handy tool for opening hyperlinks that people get sent through e-mail. “While you have told people not to open them, they do so anyway” says Chris Weltzien.
