Help again. ??? I cleaned up my sis’s computer. It had a virus. I downloaded spybot on it, did the usual maintenance. Ran Norton, and apparently it didn’t block the virus. ??? The problem is, is that it takes forever to open up a window from yahoo. I ran google and it runs quite a bit faster, but yahoo just runs slow. Would there of been damage done to Internet Explorer or Yahoo that I can fix? Her computer hasn’t had the disk cleanup done since she bought it (I don’t think). So there were alot of errors when spybot was ran and alot of compressing needed done.
I don’t know what you mean by you downloaded spybot and ‘did the usual’ ?
If that was the some of the tools you used I feel you have work yet to do.
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode.
- AVG anti-spyware (formerly Ewido) If using winXP. or a-Squared free if using win98/ME. Or SUPERantispyware Or Spyware Terminator
Now might be a time for your sister to consider consigning Norton to the bit bucket, download avast and save the file so you can find it later. Ensue you are off-line, uninstall Norton, reboot and install avast.
Norton can at times be a bit of a pig to remove and may need some additional work:

IE might have lots of stuff (sorry about getting technical) hanging off it that could be slowing it down, BHO (Browser Helper Objects), Toolbars, etc. Spybot may have been able to remove some of them but I would also suggest you try Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition.
Then the more powerful anti-trojan tools I gave earlier.
Download A squared Free or Ewido software ,maybe it can hlepful. 
You might also try SpywareTerminator to find additional problems and TweakNow Regcleaner Standard to safely clean out junk in the registry as this can also slow down her computer. Both of these programs are free for home use.
