Another large set of Trojan-gen detection released today

Hi All,

as usual, after some period of time another large bunch of Trojan-gen detections has been added to the latest iAVS. Although I do not expect large amount of false positives, this unfortunately might happen. If you find such file and you think this could be the false positive, please send it to the usual address: virus AT avast.com. Thanks for cooperation :wink: !

I’ve just checked and there is no vps update ??? Current one is 442-3 here.

I’ve gotta false positive, its avast! external control.exe, I’m about to email it to Awil for anailsys :slight_smile:

We’re aware of this one - there’s no need to e-mail it.

Also getting a warning on RejZor’s PowerDefragmenter.exe file as well. I assume that you don’t need that emailed ???

I did try to confirm using Jotti but it would appear that it is down as it was not found at http://www.virusscan.jotti.dhs.org

I got that alarm too! So I removed it. Thinking I should.

The earlier post was in ref to the avast! external control.exe
I had it backed up on a CD. Here is my report

Sign of “Win32:Trojan-gen. {VC}” has been found in “D:\PC -STUFF\Tools\Security\Anti Virus\AVAST\avast! External Control.exe” file.

Do an iVAS Update, this has been resolved recently.

Ok, I was reading a tread and Eddy had put a link to the VPS history and I thought I’d might take a look and when I saw a HUGE list of trogan virus’s !
