Hi All

after some period, there is another large bunch of Trojan-gen added in the today’s update. We have tested is for long time so I do not expect serious problems from it. If you have some file which you believe is not Trojan-gen however, please send it as soon as possible to virus [at] avast [dot] com e-mail address.

Thank you for your cooperation  !!

Pavel

I just wanted to ask where is your regular monday update when i saw this thread  Testing entire drive…

A bit OT:

The VPS-history page looks a bit odd today:
http://www.avast.com/eng/vps_history.html

lot of white space on top, VPS-Date is covered by page headers/Menue etc…

both on IE6-uptodate and on Netscape 7.01

Yeah, definatly something went wrong there.

Also to bad, the two samples I send to (hmm what is his name again) Karel(?) are still not recognized again.

Yeah, lots of samples submited by me were not added (yet),but some of them got cought by Trojan-Gen signatures now

Strange thing is they where added and perfectly detected before. I (just guessing) think they where removed again because the detection led to false positives, since then they where (sofar?) not added again although allmost all other av’s are detecting them.

There was one false positive with WinRAR again. I have sent the warning to Alwil about this FP,so everyone else can focus on other FPs (if any)

Using WinRar 3.40 myself, but scanning the folder didn’t give a warning or detection.

It gave me warning on WinRAR 3.41 (latest official) on file Default.SFX.

Pavel, just a minor suggestion, but won’t this be good at the annoucements forum?
Maybe more users will be pay attention to update ::slight_smile:

Is the VPS update 0452-0?

Yes
