Another person with Blackfight, Reddie, Epictory, etc. popups from Avast

Hi. This is my first post on this forum.

I’m getting popups from Avast every few minutes about Reddie, Blackfight etc.

What information do you need me to post in order for me to get help?

Hi. Working off my phone here.

So I downloaded the Malware software. I did a general scan last night and during the process I lost all connection to the internet or rather I can’t connect to any server. On Google Chrome I get the error DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN. What might have caused this? I haven’t been able to connect to any server since.

Do you get the same error with Firefox and IE

Start > run >

Perform the following commands:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

Let us know if this solved it.

FF just says Server not found

IE says This page can’t be displayed

Tried all 3 commands. No joy.

OK

Could you ensure that no proxy is set…

Go to control panel > Internet options > connections tab
Click LAN settings
Tick Automatically detect settings
Remove any ticks from the proxy settings

All of that seems to be already applied. So it’s still not working. Thanks for all of the help by the way. I really appreciate it. I just hope that this can be fixed.

OK could you restore your computer to when you had internet connection and then just run the FRST scan

I did a system restore and I can now access the internet, which is good. However I’m getting errors such as this:

“System Restore
System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer’s system files and settings were not changed.
Details:
System Restore failed while deleting the following file/directory.
Path:C:
An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x8000ffff)
You can try System Restore again and choose a different restore point. If you continue to see this error, you can try an advanced recovery method. For more information, see What is Recovery?”

And I got this same error twice after trying a second restore to an earlier point after I got the first error.

I also get these kind of errors:

“firefox.exe - Bad Image
\.\globalroot\systemroot\apppatch\nbin\vc32loader.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.”

I get similar errors like this for IE and Chrome.

What should I do at this point? Continue on with the original procedure? Wipe the entire OS from my machine?

Run FRST for me please and I will see if we can resolve it from there
