Yeah… I always say that simple and not so complicated is always the best. I like simple things too… on the other hand, we must think of those people who always like to spice up the way their programs look…
I say: “Million souls, million different opinions”
I agree. And you’re very artistic and talented. You’re skins look great! ;D I was making a parody of a scene from Seinfeld where the old rich couple is looking at that awful picture of Kramer ;D
Look at this one… proof that even that skin that comes with the safe boot routine, can be nice and lovable if we “touch” it with Fireworks or CorelPaint…
Anyway, skin that comes with the safe boot routine should be as simple as possible and not eat to much memory… ;D This one I “washed” is just for joke…
Sasha, the distorted version of the low-res skin is pretty but has one major caveat - it doesn’t fit the Windows standard 16-color pallette anymore… That skin was explicitly created for configurations with very limited graphics capabilities, i.e. less then 256 color resolutions. And as such, the modified version would not work…
Anyway, once you get acquainted with the creation of avast skins, you can create this modified version, too. It’s not going to be ‘lo-res’ anymore, but that’s no problem I guess… (Culperer will like it as it is :))
BTW I sent you an e-mail a while ago, as promised.
I downloaded Skin Builder v4.3 and also I took a look at some of Avast! original skins. Lots of work in front of me, but I never was a quiter…
Regards !
SORRY…SORRY… I MODIFIED THIS POST A DAY LATTER… FINALLY I MANAGED TO MAKE SOME PROGRESS IN “SKIN BUILDER v4.3”… YEAH !!! I’M SO HAPPY !!! THIS IS WONDERFUL ! I must find some good reason to avoid going to work few days, hihi ;D 8)
I already finished preparing all bitmaps, buttons, backrounds and I succeded to force my skin to work well… I’ll give another report latter…
Just one think Vlk… “display area” - where all information should be shown… is there any proportion, numbers, dimension (in pixels) that I must hold on to ?
