"Or you can visit your local computer store to disinfect your computer easily. Antivirus is only a part of overall computer security. The main part is the user and his awareness what is he/she installing on the PC.
Kind Regards
Vojta Nekvapil
Third-Party Support Specialist"
The day before yesterday, I ran the following programs because I had a problem shutting my system down, because of this: “Access Violation at Address 00423B70 in module ComcastAntiSpy.exe. Write of addresses 0000000D.”
I utilized the following anti malware/ anti virus software, all of which could not find anything wrong:
AVAST
Spybot Search and Destroy
Malware Byte’s
Windows Defender
Super AntSpyware
HiJackThis
Well, Vojta Nekvapil, a third party tech support person, no less, had me install HiJackThis and this program sort of found it. IN the meantime, I was in contact with Spybot Search and Destroy’s tech support and after purging the unwanted files regarding that toolbar crap, Sandra emailed me back stating that I still had another virus and to download this small program and send her back the report. So, I did. I even sent a copy of the report to this Vojta Nekvapil: Who, in turn has yet to respond.
However, prior to me sending him that report from Spybot S&D, he suggested I take my system in to have it purged. In short, “Our software is a piece of crap and you have to pay some specialist to purge your system.” Symantec wants $99 to purge my system.
It’s all about money and less about quality and customer service and tech support, isn’t it? Can you imagine how angry I would be if I had paid for AVAST?
Now watch, this thread will be deleted momentarily by an AVAST moderator! Thank you.
Well no av is 100% perfect which is why it pay’s to layer your security and use common sense, obviously one of these you did not have ! i wonder which one it was ???
I honestly have tried to read this, but I really haven’t found any real information in this rant. Whilst you might well be angry, it isn’t helping you or anyone else to resolve whatever it is that is the problem.
Given the file name alone (lots of hits on google for it):
Do you have a program called “Comcast Antispy” installed?
Is or was Comcast your ISP?
Are you running any other Comcast supplied Security Software?
What were you doing when you got this error “Access Violation at Address 00423B70 in module ComcastAntiSpy.exe. Write of addresses 0000000D.” ?
EDIT: Check if this folder location and registry key are present:
O4 - HKCU..\Run: [ComcastAntispyClient] “C:\Program Files\comcasttb\ComcastSpywareScan\ComcastAntispy.exe”
you installed a program - not a malware, just an ordinary program - that doesn’t work
you uninstalled it in a non-standard way (using 3rd party uninstallers is certainly not the best idea if there’s any other option - that’s what might have actually caused the problems in the first place)
now, you start sending e-mails to AV companies that miss some relevant information, yet contain language I would ban you immediately for
… and you are surprised that your problem is not instantly solved by some AV magic?
Well, dream on… but you didn’t have a virus, just an unworking program, so it’s kinda naive to expect the AV programs to help you with that, no matter how many of them you try.
You could have checked that software against the info given via this link http://www.pcpitstop.com/libraries/process/i/ComcastAntiSpy.exe.html
As it is a BHO you could have removed it through a BHO removing tool,
like for instance toolbarcop, but as igor already said the best way was to go to
Configuration Screen and remove the previously installed program from there
in the obvious way via Programmes - Remove a Programme,
Dont be surprise that you sir get hated by the businesses who try to protect you (included avast!). Dude if you say avast! is a money hungry because they make pay software so tell me, if they make all that for free how will they can survive by paying their bills ? It isnt free to make a business my god kid.
This certainly prove that you never made a business of your life and you certainly dont know anything in regarding security.
Oh by the way at least if you noticed avast! has the opportunity to give you a free protection for your home computers. They arent forced to do it thought. But they do it because they love us. So if your there for ruin this and say that avast! doesnt give enought for free man just … you.
Sorry avast! but i cant resist to see how much this guy has the respect to come here and throw all those things again you.
Oh for the hater, if the businesses did delete the topics for you isnt for the market but for the arrogance you make again them. They wont let you to play on their back. Dont think your welcome from the world… Dont you ?
