I helped my mother out with her mobile, but needed to insert her SIM in my phone.
Avast locked my phone. But now the Avast password doesn’t work and my phone is still locked, even after inserting the right “whitelisted” SIM

Hello,

the phone stays locked if you reinsert the whitelisted card because a thief could unlock it this way.

Many customers were able to remember the correct password with the information that it consists of 4-6 digits, only numbers.

avast! Anti-Theft doesn’t send the pin code to our servers and there is no master key for security reasons.
Since it’s locked, you can’t uninstall it to reset the pin. So your only option is to hardreset the device. To find out how to do it please google for “hardreset ”

I’m afraid I can offer no alternative.

However, I have reset my phone and I’ll just won’t activate Anti Theft,
but I will reinstall Avast, because it works great.

ok sorry for the trouble. have not heard of other users of such thing though.
