i have installed Anti-Theft 3.1.7863 and Mobile Security 4.0.8130 from Google Play.
Now i can remove the “Avast Anti-Theft” device Administrator without PIN protection!
My device: HTC One (M8); Android 5.1.1; CyanogenMod)
I have try to reflash my ROM and make a fresh installation of Anti-Theft and Mobile Security → same problem.
My other device (Mobile Security 4.0.7891 and Anti-Theft 3.0.7118; HTC One X; Android 4.2.2; HTC Stock ROM) i MUST imput the PIN for disabling the device Administrator.
Is there a solution?
Thx
P.S. Sorry for my bad englisch
P.S.S: i have tryed ESET Mobile Security & Antivirus: PIN protection works, so it must be possible in Avast
Since you rooted the device, you need to anti-theft rooted version installed.
It is not available through the store anymore, but search a bit and I’m sure you will find a download location.
thx for your answer. But that is not the problem. I have root disabled in CyanogenMod.
To be absolutly sure that CyanogenMod is not the reason, i have flashed HTC Stock ROM (Android 5.0.1; HTC Software: 4.16.401.13) without root.
The Problem is the same. This must be a Bug in Avast… is there a way to report this Problem to the developers?
btw: i like the Anti-Theft Rooted version and had used it on my devices, but it is not official supported anymore… so it is no option
Thank you very much for your feedback. I will forward it to our development team. We are now working on development of a completely new version of Avast Anti-Theft now.
