Anti theft device not showing up in device list on my laptop

I recently lost my mobile on holiday and on my return wanted to try out the features on the anti theft app installed on my HTC ONE Mini. when logging in the Avast on my laptop the only devive I am able to view is my laptop. should I of linked my mobile to the avast programme on my laptop or would it of been done automatically or does it not work like this? Any help on how to start using any Avast Anti Theft features would be greatly appreciated, many thanks

Thanks, for somereason my mobile is not linked to my Avast account so I will have to use another mobile device with Avast installed. If I was to go to my network provider to obtain a new sim card and the sim card in my lost phone is disconnected would i lose the ability to use the Anti Theft features, many thanks
