Anti Theft Setup Enable From Unknown Sources

I get this box

To setup Anti Theft, go to Settings and enable Unknown Sources [Allow installation of non-Market applications]

When I click on it, it says, your phone and personal data are more vulnerable to attack by applications from unknown sources.

I don’t want that to happen in order to setup Anti Theft.

Please HELP.

Hi,

you can enable it, install Anti-Theft and then disable it again.

Filip

I don’t understand. But why will my phone and personal data be vulnerable to attack by applications from unknown sources.

Your application does that. What’s the reason ?

  1. Is there a detailed guide which I can read and set up Anti Theft correctly ?

  2. Does Anti Theft work for Indian users ?

Hi,

  1. You can try to consult our user guid - http://files.avast.com/files/documentation/mobile-security-user-guide-en.pdf - it’s a bit outdated I think, but shouldn’t be that bad.

  2. Sure, it does.

Filip

Ok, will check it.
