Anti-Theft -- Significant Battery Usage

I enabled the anti-theft on my Galaxy S3 yesterday to learn how it works. So far I’ve only configured the basic setup options.

This morning, 3 hours after taking my phone off the charger, I’m seeing increased battery usage. Per the attached pictures, the anti-theft app from Avast is causing a noticable increase. It appears that it’s keeping the phone in a wake state and not allowing it to fully enter sleep mode.

Is there a way to minimize the drain or is this something that will be corrected in a future update?

Here’s the 2nd attachment. The cell standby usage looks significant, but this is a documented reporting error in Galaxy S3 phones. The actual usage is likely about 1/10th that value.

The anti-theft app is titled “Lost Cause”

Hello,

of course an app that locates, sends sms, uses gps uses some battery. but - it’s main purpose is the lost/stolen case. that’s not everyday business.

try the following:

reboot your phone and check back 24 hours later what app uses how much battery.
you’ll see - our product is very ressource saving.

Thanks. I expected some energy usage, but the issue appears to be that the app was keeping my phone in a wake state.

After turning off and restarting the phone, it looks like it’s now able to go back to a sleep state.
