Hello,

We have a lot of trouble with the antispam en Exchange 2010 and 2008, on some installation it work on some it doesn’t work.

We work with the SBS version and Avast Enpoint Protection Suite Plus in standalone.

On the log we have that:

Any idea about what is the problem ?

Please try and apply VPS update and reboot server Hop. I was working with avast! reseller tech support on this issue Friday. Please let me know!

only VPS or VPS + engine ?

There is a fix in the VPS, according to Lukas. So, VPS update and reboot and let me know!

yes it work but it’s really strange …

if we make update engine the problem come back :frowning:

if we make update the vps the problem is solved :slight_smile:

I believe the engine is still the same release, so when you update the engine, you put this issue back into play. Then the VPS update patched the engine. The next release of the engine will incorporate the patch. So, only do VPS, no engine.

the VPS and Engine update are the same… Could you clarify, please? See attached screenshot to make it clear…

Glad I wasn’t the only one who had a problem.

Yesterday morning no e-mails we’re being processed, after some troubleshooting I discovered the Exchange shield wasn’t running. So I removed it and rebooted, and now Exchange is processing e-mail. This is also on a SBS 2011 Server.

I haven’t tried to re-enable it yet, as I wanted to come here and see if anyone else was having issues. Since it seems like they are, is there any time frame on an update/fix?

I am willing to HiJack this thread, i had the same issues.
Yesterday updated to the new console, and upgraded the client on our SBS2011 from 6 to the current 7.
Had issues with the shields too, and no mails where processed correctly !!! >:(
outgoing and incoming mails both got stuck in the exchange poison queue (???)
I had to uninstall avast to get my echange working again.
Cost me a night of sleep - which i need badly because i have a 4-day music festival coming up …

I have a similar problem being that the mail scanner and antispam does not scan any traffic on workstations that have windows 7 pro 64 bit, with office 2010 installed, even tho the shield is running. However all of the windows xp pro 32 bit workstations with office 2007 work fine.

The MS office avast plugin splash screen doesnt display on outlook 2010 startup on the windows 7, but it does on the windows xp/office 2007

Is there a known email plugin compatability problem with : Windows 7, or 64Bit operating systems, or office 2010?

Incidently the server is Small Business Server 2003. The exchange shield is scanning emails on the server.

Im at a total loss how to solve this problem. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled miltiple times.

Sorry to bump this thread like this, bu I want a solution to my problem, and I really want to have an AV solution running on my exchange server !

Well I just installed the latest version of both the console and the agent and it all seems to be working correctly now.

In version 7, we do not install mail shield and network shield by default. Mail shield on the server is useful only when an e-mail client is installed on the machine. We just don’t see that as a common configuration. However, you can install it if you want. The network shield is deselected for possible issues with network sharing etc. So it is not installed by default.

We were told to NEVER install the Network Shield on a server!
