Antispam in MS Outlook not loading

Avast Internet Security 19.1.2360

Outlook add-ins centre tells me that avast com add-in failed “Not loaded: runtime error occurred during the loading of the Com Add-in.” This is since the update of yesterday.

Might be a bug, wait for one of the devs and/or submit a ticket: https://support.avast.com/contact

Thanks. Raised a ticket

You’re welcome.

Hi SusanLeake,

thanks for reporting the issue. Can you please specify Windows and Office (Outlook) version?

Thanks in advance,
HK

Office 2016 and Win10. I am getting some emails marked as spam but they are not being moved and the toolbar is missing

Thanks for the info. I tried to reproduce it with Win10 64bit + Outlook 2016 and did not find any issue with avast add-in. Could you please try to reinstall Anti-spam component?

  • click Start button > Settings > Apps
  • select Avast and click Modify button
  • on Avast setup screen deselect Anti-spam component and click Change button
  • when operation is finished click Done button and restart computer
  • after reboot repeat previous steps and when Avast setup screen appears select Anti-spam component to install it

Hope it will help.
HK

Thanks- I cannot do this today but hopefully tomorrow - I will let you know if it works

Hi,

are you using 64bit version of Office 2016 or 32bit?

Thanks,
Petr

i’m having the same issue. I cannot get the Avast COM Add-in to load. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Did not work. I have Microsoft Windows 10 64 bit, and Outlook from Office 365 32 bit. It has been this way since last update.

I am having the same problem, Win 10 64 and Office Pro Plus 2016. Tried the uninstall feature/re-install, made no difference.

Win 10 = 64bit MS Office = 32bit. Have not tried the uninstall/reinstall as yet but judging from the replies below it will not work.

Thanks Asyn. I did raise a ticket when you suggested it

NP Susan, now it’s up to the devs to fix it asap.
