Antitheft installation on rooted - how to open/run UPDATE.ZIP

I downloaded avast on my rooted Galaxy S1 and I want to set the Anti-Theft. Unfortunately, at the end did not quite know what to do …
Here is my process mode installation root:
1st step - Application Name: choosen!
2nd step - Gets an installation package downloads and ends with success
3rd - Direct write method does not work so choose the method of image recovering
4th - edify format
5th Binary 1
6th Installs
7th Setup:
sd card update.zip file was created. Now you can remove the module setup (that’s my problem -how???) And save the avast!Anti-Theft in a revision of the firmware (ie via ROM Manager - sorry for my ignorance :stuck_out_tongue: but what is it??).

Please help.
Many tkx in advance

I too got into the phase when I have UPDATE.zip file on my card, but don’t know, what to do next.
I tried to google it but I’m not geek enough to understand what I found  apart from the fact, that by tempting with the ROM I might loose warranty.

please could you describe some basic step-by-step, how to finish the installation of Avast Anti-theft?

I’m using ASUS Padfone with Android 4.0.4

thanx

whats the issue with direct write?

I have a T-Mobile Motorola Cliq which is rooted. I tried installing the Anti-Theft with the direct write method which fails and I receive the following message "Could not write to /system directory (write: No space left on device). Retry (it is recommended to retry at least one time)? I have tried numerous times with no success. I have 115MB free space on Internal. So I downloaded Recovery Image Method using Edify Binary 1 since my phone is old.

My question is how would I set this up to work in Recovery Method? I’m using ROM Manager on my T-Mobile Motorola Cliq.

see http://forum.avast.com/offline/forum.theftaware.com/viewtopic1f8c.html

It installed before as rooted and I hate to delete things, but will explore this avenue.

Thank you very much Reinhardholzner. This worked perfectly! I wish I could mark this as answered correctly. Again, thank you very much.

I have to again thank Reinhardholzner for this information. This also helped me to finally update Superuser to the latest su binary which I have been working on for a couple of weeks. You rock!

How do I use the update.ZIP FIle? thanks a lot for your help

direct write: is your phone rooted? if yes: did you block Anti-Theft / Mobile Security in your SU whitelist - this is the most common issues the users have.
