I searched and didn’t find anything on this rogue anti virus in this forum. When I search Google, I find so many things and don’t recognize any of them and afraid to trust or use them.

I’m running WindowsXP SP1 and this program just installed itself and I have no idea how. I run Comodo Firewall, SuperAntiSpyware, Avast AntiVirus Home and neither detected this program as a threat or asked for permission, as it usually does. Either way, I thought I might post this info to perhaps help anyone else who runs across this. Should Avast have recognized this as Malware? Would the Pro version have detected it?

I downloaded and installed Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware program, which I found in an XP Forum somewhere by searching, and ran it and it seemed to have worked…so far.
I was getting pop-ups that numerous trojans had been found on my system and I should buy AntiVirus 2008 to fix things. :wink:

Thanks for the info. Avast home and pro are the exact same in the scanning aspect. They each will detect the same thing.
