Antivirus Installation Completed with Errors

Today, when I went to install the “Avast Busines agent setup”, the “Business Agent” and “Premium Remote Control” portions installed fine, but “Antivirus” did not install.

I made sure that any previous anti-virus was uninstalled (Macaffee), and ran the installer. Both machines that I installed it on had this problem, they were identical DELL XPS computers running Windows 10 Pro.

I also went to Macafee’s website and downloaded their uninstaller tool and restarted the computer, but I get the same result.

I broke down and downloaded the offline installer for the software, and that seems to have installed just fine. Somehow only the antivirus component is being blocked.

Any thoughts?

We have had a few issues with the both installers. Most recently, the desktop icon and notification are icons do not show up.

Also, where is the installer download within the Avast Business portal these days? I can’t find it anywhere.

Are you using an updated (21.9) installer?

You can see the “+ Device” button on the upper right corner of the Devices widget on the dashboard or on the upper right corner of the Devices Page.

Yes, eventually I spotted the “+” in the corner and tried the latest installer.

It seemed to fix one computer, but other one is still showing a partial install on the console. I can execute a virus scan whilst sitting at the machine, but all of the remote scan options are greyed out on the console. I’ll keep trying.

Uninstall Avast on the device using Avast Clear (https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe)
If the device is on the Hub, delete the device on Hub.
Install Avast on the device with an updated installer.
