Antivirus service keeps stopping

I did everything one could do and Avast Antivirus Service keeps stopping. I need to manually start it an then after a couple of minutes it stops again and the cycle goes on. This happened after Windows 10 latest update. Every time I say to myself to stop using Avast I come back to it but I guess this is it, I will go back to AVG if this is not solved quickly.

Have you tried this

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

Having the same issue, as soon as the avast support tool is run it goes green again for a short time. This is most disconcerting.

only happening on a new install so far, my main pc isn’t having issues that i can see.

Not sure if what you are calling the avast support tool is the Support Package or not.

The Avast Support Tool (Support Package) isn’t designed to fix it, it is intended to gather information that is uploaded to avast developers to help find the cause and allow for a fix.

basically the first stage of the tool runs a check to see if it can find the issue and then restarts it, unfortunately this doesnt fix the underlying issue of the program randomly stopping.

That sounds like you used the repair function in programs and features.
