Hey, everybody. this forum is probably my last hope because I’m really short of ideas what to do.
I was using Windows Vista Home Premium on my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo pi3525 laptop. I don’t know what happened but one day it crashed, with all the blue screens and caution messages etc. I installed a brand new Windows 7, formatting the system partition(C:/) first, hoping that this would make my life easier. After the installation process completed I installed Avast 4.8 Professional. The moment i restarted after the installation the antivirus begun detecting system files as viruses. For example, files like regedit.exe, notepad.exe, winhelp.exe etc. I thought it was something in the software and changed it with my NOD32, which is installed on my PC, but the same happened again. Ever since i start my antivirus system files are being detected as viruses, and in case I delete them on the next restart i cannot logon.
Today I installed the Win 7 again, formatting the C:/ first, but it’s all the same. I have no idea what is going on. I just installed Avast! again but it has already detected some files as malware/viruses.
Do you have any idea what the problem might be, and what should I do.
Thanks in advance to those who’d try.
Maybe a mbr virus, i.e., a virus on the master boot record that is infecting the Windows files.
Are you installing offline? Is your Windows DVD clean/legit? Is there any other partition/disk in this computer?
The first time I installed I didn’t unplug the internet cable, so at first i thought this was a reason for a virus to infect my computer. The second reinstall was completely offline. The first time I used legit DVD of Windows 7 Home Premium, the second a friend of mine gave me a DVD of Ultimate because I thought It might be something from the Home Premium.
