Hi! I’m new to the forum and not sure where to post, so excuse me if I’m wrong. I have Avast Free Antivirus Version 2015.10…
I’m trying to update it manually, but updating just freezes at some point and nothing happens then. What is the solution?

  • Other security related software installed…?

Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit.
No other security related software installed.
I built that PC in 2014 and been using Avast since.

  1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
