Any thoughts on Ghostwall firewall ?

I know we discussed Ghostwall firewall few times in the past, but I’m just wondering is there anything new about this one. If I remember well, it used to protect inbound traffic only, but I’ve also heard that there are some settings for controling Outbound traffic too (recent releases).

Anyone is using this baby ? Any thoughts to help others when deciding which firewall to install ? I’ve also heard that it’s unbelievable light on system resources (RAM and CPU). How it behaves when those firewall tests are performed ? etc, etc.

Thanks in advance !

Hard to believe that no one uses this firewall… ???

Sorry buddy I am not man enough to play with this new Ghostwall firewall, because this firewall is not very well know throughout the market and it maybe why nobody hasn’t heard of it.

I guess nobody wonna play with Ghostwall firewall. I am dugging my head in the sand.

Well, I wouldn’t say it’s some unknown firewall. Many people use that firewall. They also have their own (official) forum at Wilders Security. It’s just, many posts are quite old, and I haven’t found anything new lately.

Also, it would be great to hear from “the first hand” here, from avast! users if anyone is using it… much better than wandering all over the net.

Btw, we have some well-known firewalls like Kerio is, and today many people recommends replacing it with some other firewall because they found out that Kerio is actually full of flaws (from graphical stand of point to security one).

Hi Sasha,
Unfortunately Ghost Firewall is strictly rule based and therefore
not designed for the novice user. ( Including me. )

Hi Bob !

Just like Look’n’Stop that I’m using right now… Rules, rules ! Rules makes everything much more flexible… Hehe ;D ;D

That’s precisely why I haven’t tried Look’n’Stop. Unfortunately a badly written rule leaves your
system wide open. Application based is much easier for us dummies… ;D ;D
