AnyDVD HD: AnyDVDtray.exe

Newest AnyDVD HD 6.5.4.0. install fails because avast detects AnyDVDtray.exe as beagle.

4/10/2009 8:58:28 AM SYSTEM 2236 Sign of “Win32:Beagle-AID [trj]” has been found in “D:\AnyDVD\AnyDVDtray.exe” file.

New version downloaded straight from Slysoft webite.

Emailed a sample to virus@avast.com

Thanks!

Same message here too . Also sent file to Avast .

Slysoft says its a false possitive .

I’m getting the same thing with Avast detecting the newest AnyDVD HD 6.5.4.0. AnyDVDtray.exe as beagle.

I too am getting the same thing and now my anydvd won’t load at all, I sent an email to anydvd and this is the reply they sent back to me, although it still does not get it working again :

[b]Thank you for your e-mail.

That is a false positive. We do not ship viruses with our products and some AV
programs react this was when we update.

Just registered for this forum to confirm the other reports in this thread that avast! Home Edition with today’s defs is reporting the installation and execution of AnyDVD HD 6.5.4.0 as a Win32:Beagle-AID Trojan.
That is running avast! on Vista SP1 64-bits.

Over at the AnyDVD forum the consensus is that this detection is a false positive.

I concur because on my Vista SP1 32-bit system running NOD32 v4 AnyDVD HD 6.5.4.0 installed and runs without being flagged.

First time avast! has mis-detected AnyDVD in about a year or two on my system(s). Otherwise, it been very sound and coexists perfectly with COMODO 3.8 XXX 477 (Firewall + Defense only).

Have you got a reply from VT, if so if it has a link to the results page can you post it ?

Reply? VT? Email? No email reply… yet.

Do you mean Virus Total? It’s a 5MB+ file. Virus Total times out before upload finishes.

I had to email this one ( my sandboxie restrictions )

Shame on Asquared ;D

Thanks mickey!

I have the same problem with the newest version form Anydvd … wait for help or what ???
Can I somewhere download an older version of AnyDVD ??

Yes if you email it they normally send back the results or at least a link.

Though from micky77’s reply there are a few others detecting this but still enough element of doubt to submit to avast as you have done.

An Avast update just came out to fix this problem.

Also confirmed . No more false possitive .

I use the avast version 4.8.1335 the update dialog says no update needed but AnyDVD is still recognized as a troian.

Yours Ruediger

Check your file version (current version 090410-0) .

Yes thats my version (date April 10th) - but AnyDVD didn’t install and work anymore.

Yours Ruediger

It’s all right now. I rebooted and now all works well. ::slight_smile: ;D

Thanks

Ok , then close/shut down Avast . Click on the Anydvd icon to re-start the program (should fire up now) .Then restart Avast .

edit

Cool ya got it working . ;D

The update came just before i posted not more than 30 seconds.

For WHS Server mine still shows 4.8.257 after multiple4 updates & SLOWWWWW reboots. Still broken.
