Apparently all exe html and dlls listing as virus

Windows 7 on friend’s computer, inserted flash to see if computer infected. Yep (I use Ubuntu on my desktop to see if flash infected). Started infected computer with USB Ubuntu and transferred ComboFix and Avast home to infected partition as virus immediately erases them from flash when running windows. ComboFix couldn’t run and said it may be a virut infection. Ran rmvirut.exe several times until it ran clean. Ran ComboFix and that was fine. Ran quickscan from Avast in safe mode and it detected over a 1000 infected files almost all exe, html and dll. I know what is going to happen if I delete them, BSOD, so what to do now? She doesn’t have the install dvd and I am in the middle of the DR Congo where I get excited with a 10kb/sec download so that complicates things vis a vis a reinstall.
