Are there voices (not simple sounds) in Avast 5 Russian?

I put this question in avast! Free/Pro/Suite branch but didn’t get answer. I’m using Avast 5 Russian since 5.0.396 but it has only simple sounds (like a little hammer tapping on a metal cup).

Hi…

The only thing I know to suggest is to record several .wav files (or whatever file format avast uses) of yourself and put them into the appropriate avast folder. ???

God bless

You want to say that there are no and there won’t be “official” voices for Avast 5 Russian?

And why don’t you upload these Russian wav files somewhere so users with a Russian version can use these, I guess users in the Russian Federation can also use them - language similar from yours, Unaware if any exist? Particularly because the Russian market is the best selling market for the avast products, they sure have to honor that market share with some wav files, I think. Naboj!

Hi George…

On that I have absolutely no idea. My suggestion is in case there aren’t any (or any future) official releases.

God bless

Hi George Yves,

Don’t feel too offended by not having Russian sounds, my friend.

Can you believe there even aren’t any Dutch ones!!!

Won’t they be replace as part of the “self protection” feature ??

Al968

Hi…

It’s certainly possible, I didn’t think of that. :frowning:

Someone from Alwil will need to post here with that answer. My apologies, George, if al968’s question turns out to be true. :frowning:

God bless

Hi George,

I imagine that they will be done for russian and others…

@al968

I am not completely sure, but I don’t think they will be overwritten. When messing with the sounds before, I tried to repair avast! (because I deleted the original ones ::)) and they weren’t replaced. IIRC the repair includes the intergrity check so if it looked there, then they would have been replaced.

I’ll test this for a while with a different sound and let you know…

Why not create wave files in Russian or any other language for that matter and then follow the guide
created by spg SCOTT http://sites.google.com/site/spg20scottsweb/home/changing-avast-5-sounds
until sounds files are created by avast!.
Once that happens, you can always delete the ones you created and replace them with the new ones.

There are already some other sound and voice files available but only in English:

Thank you very much for all of you, my friends. Sorry if I offended somebody with my silly pressing on a local problem. I understand that Rome wasn’t built in a day.

As for the suggestion to record my own wav-files: I don’t have the necessary equipment and my voice is not a good one to be heard from computer speakers.

You’re most welcome, George, perhaps Alwil will address this at some point in the future.

God bless

Hi George,

First of all I am pretty sure that you offended no one with this, and I wouldn’t call is silly. If it is not there, you wonder why…

Like I said above, I have changed the sound to something else (one you would like - the first few seconds of the imperial march ;D) and after updating, rebooting and repairing it is still there, so I am pretty certain that the sounds that you replace it with will not be removed.

You don’t have to have specialist equipment at all, I used Audacity (portable) to take the sound from an mp3 and export it to a wav…it can also be used to record voices to…

Thanks for the information, Scott. I think I’d better wait the voices from Avast team.

BTW, what does “spg” in your nick mean?

No problem

The spg is my initals
