Are these viruses or not?

Hi all,

I installed Avast Free Antivirus on my friends PC yesterday version 5.1.864 is the version it updated to and it is running smoothly.
After installing Avast I did a full system scan and then a boot time scan.

The results are as follows:

  1. Full system scan Threat Detected

Name: PandaPlatinum.EXE

Original Location: C:/LFA/PANDAINTERNETSECURITY

Last Changed: 27/05/2004 17:36

Transfer Time: 10/01/2011 15:18

  1. Boot Time Scan

Name: AO 164791.EXE

Original Location: C:/SYSTEMVOLUMEINFORMATION/_RESTORE(2)

Last Changed: 10/01/2011 15:45

Transfer Time 10/01/2011 15:45

I tried to submit these to the virus lab for analysis but it would not let me do that, so left them in the virus chest.
System is Windows XP Service Pack 3.

I would be most grateful if anyone could tell me if these are viruses or not so I know what to do next thanks.

First file is the poor encrypted Panda files. From years we’re complaining of this.
Panda will conflict with any other antivirus.
The second is from system restore. Deleting restore points will clear it.

Thanks for the reply Tech really appreciate it, how do I delete restore points in Win XP and also Win Vista Home Basic?
