Thank you for update,

i bought several products this year from Avast, first time, and installed ofcourse Avast Secure Browser.

I know that in these days, noone can be sure what data and to which extent are companies misusing our data in our online ‘‘lives’’, but i do support transparent and honest approach to this matter.

Uninstalled Avas secure browser…

I hope you read the entire article not just the headline. If you did, you would also know why some of that data needs to be “collected” in order to keep you safe.

I’ve always believe in AVAST. I believed it had my privacy and security interests at heart. I even recommended AVAST free to friends and family. Now I feel somewhat betrayed.

Avast Online Security (browser extension) is back in the FireFox store: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/avast-online-security/

Avast statement: “The security and privacy of our users is Avast’s priority and for this reason, we have comprehensive data protection practices in place. There have been misleading reports about us recently and we would like to clarify that we never sell personal identifiable data to anyone.
We strive to collect only the data necessary to provide our services. Avast follows GDPR-compliant industry best practices, which are described in its Privacy Policy. We also have a Privacy Portal where customers of our products can log in and check what personal data we hold about them.”
