I have found out about Arovax Shield from Comodo forum and am wondering if anyone knows if it might conflict with any of Avast functioning?

Arovax will not give you any incompatibility problems with Avast!
However, the Arovax shield will nag you every now and again asking the same permissions.
Instead you might consider Winpatrol.

Better and faster development, more options and configurations, also available in more languages.
