ASB 32bit or 64bit?

I have been an occasional user of ASB and it is currently showing as up-to-date 32bit version.
I read here once that ASB would update to 64bit version automatically, but that has never happened.
Are there any real advantages of the (more recent) 64bit version of ASB (like there are with FF64bit)?
If there are, is it necessary to do a full uninstall then reinstall to get the 64bit version, losing user settings in the process?

Come on guys, someone must be able to answer my question above.

Any answers, or is Bob3060 the only user of ASB 64bit on here?
Download from Avast websitre does not give choice of 32bit or 64bit browser. So which one do you get when you click “Download”?
(I got 32bit one on Win10, but was before 64bit version was released)

There’s only one download your system determines the version that gets installed.
Take a look in Control Panel > System and look at the system information.
Here’s mine,

  1. Hi, I’m currently on Version 79.0.3062.80 (Offizieller Build) (beta) (64-Bit).
  2. Try a clean reinstall of ASB.
  3. Well, it’s faster. 8)

Well after making a note of my settings etc, I soft uninstalled ASB via Control Panel, choosing to retain browser data instead of total cleanout.
Then downloaded setup file from Avast and installed. I did a custom install just to omit icon from taskbar and omit starting the browser straight after install.
All seems well. I now have ASB Version 77.2.2154.121 (Official Build) (64-bit) instead of 32bit, whilst retaining my settings, extensions, bookmarks etc.
