Hi Everyone, I have been receiving this alert message from Avast from a week back. Can anyone let me know a solution for this. I am posting the screen shot
You can try proposed solution from previous similar case http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=34168.msg286530#msg286530
Something on your system is trying to get connected to that site to download more malware.
I take it that you aren’t trying to connect to that site ?
What is your firewall ?
It should be capable of blocking unauthorised outbound Internet Connections and clearly it isn’t.
No, this is outer threat, not inner one. ARP spoofing. Valid HTTP requests are intersepted somewhere in the network and as a result extra call to malisiouis site is returned.
Sounds like you’re hooked to a network with several computers?
See it this link will help:
@David. I am using Zone Alarm and it says “It is blocking 232 intrusions every time”.
That (ZA free) should give you limited outbound protection, though as psw suggests it is more likely to be an outer threat. I don’t think that the blocking 232 intrusions is related to the avast detections.
ZA makes a big deal about the number of intrusion attempts made and the number is irrelevant (though always saying 232 is strange, almost like a number picked from nowhere), it is the one that gets past that is a problem, if it gets past.
As a marketing effect, ZA shows tons of attack blocked… the only firewall that ‘reports’ them… why?
Which firewall is good? other than ZA. What about Comodo?
Comodo with Defense+ (if you tolerate it) or PCTools are good ones.
Wht about other free ones or else should i buy a Total Internet security.
Both are compatible with avast… I don’t see a reason to buy a suite.
There is also Online Armor (free) which is said to be more user friendly and it also did well in firewall tests. See http://www.matousec.com/projects/firewall-challenge/results.php.
I wouldn’t recommend a total internet security package as that would include an anti-virus and you shouldn’t have two resident AVs installed. Not to mention the cost, when there are fre alternatives which are just as good if not better.
