Hi,
I noticed that there are a lot of files named ash1A.tmp, ash1B.tmp, etc. in the C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4 folder. Can they be safely removed?
I searched the forum but couldn’t find anything.
Thanks.

I think you will find that the avast self-defence module will block this.
Is there a specific reason you need to remove them, are they old (date modified, etc.), what size are they ?
I don’t have any .tmp files in the avast4 folder.
Maybe they’re left after you have updated avast and not booted (yet)? ???
I’ll repair avast installation through Control Panel, boot, then if the files remain, you can disable the self-defense module into the Troubleshooting tab of avast settings and delete them.
