Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs, select avast! Antivirus and click on “Add/Remove”.
avast! Control Panel applet should appear; select “Repair” from the left list, click “Next” and let the repair finish.
Does it help?
When you say you are on winME from yesterday, have you upgraded from an earlier OS win95/98?
If so, did you have avast installed before the upgrade to winME ?
i try to uninstall avast and same error and reinstall its the same error
i try to repair avast always the same error
the millenium edition was installed first and not upgraded
the avast was first installation !!!
- Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
- Boot
- Use Avast Uninstall for complete uninstallation (read http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_uninstall_util.html)
- Boot
- Install again by this command on the folder you’ve donwload and save the install file: setupeng.exe /forceinstall
Where setupeng.exe is the name of the executable
Well, is there the msvcr71.dll file in your Windows\System folder?
Yes the msvcr71.dll is in windows\system folder !!!
Check the size and the version (rightclick → Properties) of the file, please - what is it?
