i noticed that when i install avast free version and then upgrade to pro
version that the ashcmd.exe file is not being included in the upgrade.
i tried to use it and it’s just not there…
i then go to control panel, and uninstall/change, reboot, and then the
ashcmd executable appears in the system…
am i doing something wrong here???
many thanks…
Well, something could be wrong with your first installation.
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).
If this does not help, you can uninstall / boot / install / boot again.

I understand what you are saying, but if I have to uninstall free version and then install pro version, it seems to me as tho the process of upgrading from free to pro is not working correctly???
many thanks…
I won’t say it’s not working, but it did not work in your particular case. Sorry.
