ashDisp.exe corrupting my desktop?

???

I had a postage stamp size square of frozen display I could not get rid of until I killed ashDisp.exe. It was over the top left corner of my screen, covering “File, Send, etc.” areas of many pieces of software… not letting me see things and accepting mouseclicks (not passing them through to the application beneath). I’m not sure if Avast4.5-561 was trying to tell me something, and if so I wonder what important message it meant to display.

Ideas?

What is your operating system? Does the problem replicate? (i.e. do you know how to simulate it?)

Thanks
Vlk

No, it does not seem to be recurring. I have heard of something similar happening on an identical laptop, which does NOT have AVAST installed, so it may be an interaction between AVAST and something else.

I run WinXP tablet edition 2005 on an Acer Travelmate c110.

I will post again if the interaction happens again.
