Does anybody know why ashDisp.exe doesn’t close down when restarting or shutting down
the system? Running Win XP Professional XP2.
Thanks
Joaquin

What do you mean exactly?
ashdisp.exe is the icon on system tray. Are you receiving an error message? Which one?
Sorry, it’s beyond my knowledge.
I hope someone from the programmers could take a look on it.
I have had a proccess in my pc(found by task manager>proccesses tab) called ashDisp.exe and it was always locking up my pc. It even reverted my pc from XP to 2000 a few times! :o When I end it the pc is completely stable. I found out it belongs to avast! internet security by web search. Help! ???
No, ashdisp.exe is the icon on system tray, not any provider (resident) of avast.
Are you downgrading your computer from XP to 2000? I don’t think this is possible… if it is, you need to uninstall avast and install it again.

I do not see how this could even be possible. Perhaps you have a virus, trojan, or worm on your computer that could do this.
