ashMaiSv.exe

Faulting application ashMaiSv.exe, version 4.6.602.0, faulting module ashMaiSv.exe, version 4.6.602.0, fault address 0x0000f0cd.

I have 7 instances of this over a week.

Any ideas?

John

I’m sure more information will help get to the bottom of it, such as:

What OS?
What email client?
What were you doing when they occurred?
Where there any other error messages?

When did you last update avast? the latest release version is 4.6.612 I believe and beta version 4.6.618 so ashMaiSv.exe has also changed.

DavidR, do not confuse the Avast version with the seperate version numbers of the modules
4.6.602.0 is the latest version of ashMaiSv.exe
You can see it if you right click the file > properties > version tab

Yes, confusion reigns, ;D I did wonder why they were all 4.6.618 in the On-Access window.

AMd Athlon 2400. Gigabyte GA7ZXE mainboard.
768 meg ram. XPsp2.
in this particular instance,
I was downloading from usenet & copying a file from a VCD to my Hard Drive at the same time.

Computer went to a blue screen with lots of text on it,
telling me I crashed & was going to need some help.

Avast Version? 4.6 home edition.

mail client, Mozilla Thunderbird.
Ie 6.0 for my browser.

I’ve extensively tested the ram for faults & found none.

John

Avast version is in the form of x.x.xxx (latest is 4.6.623)
What was the error on the bsod? (see XP’s log files)

4.6.585.0
Which log files?

John

Updating to 4.6.623 should solve it.
