ashserv consuming about 590M (vm size)

today a friend came with an infected disk and i moved about 700 files to the virus chest. but when i tried selecting them all and deleting , i ran out of system resources and i could see in task manager that ashserv had consumed about 590M of memory.

This seems to be a memory leak

i’m running win2k professional

Strange… was the scan already finished, or still running? Were there any big archives on the drive (and was the scanning of archives turned on)?

most of the files in the chest were html and folder.htt files, infected by redlof.
and one small file infected by CIH.
I had to go to the avast chest folder manually and delete all those files. total size of all those files was about 32 M.
And yes this was after the scan was over.

hi,

You must do this one for one!!

Yes, there are some memory leaks in the chest, they will be fixed. Thank you.

Thanks a lot for answering my queries.
