OK, a little clarification:

  1. The VRDB data are stored in \Data\Integ\avast.int
  2. One minute to (re)generate the VRDB seems to be way too short for me - after all, it has to check all the executable files on your harddisk.
  3. You can check the \Data\avast4.ini file. In the [VRBD] section, there is the LastFile item during the VRDB generation; it’s the last file processed during the hard disk sweep.
I get a pop-up after completing a scan: Scan completed with error 3=The system cannot find the path specified

Do you have some kind of unformatted (or inaccessible) partition in your system?
