ashServe.exe page faulting & harddrive grinds non-stop

I notice that when I was downloading a 600+ MB torrent, ashServe.exe’s CPU usage under Windows Task Manager would jump to 40-75% not to mention the process’s page faults just went off the chart. For instance ashserv.exe would generate 2 millions+ page faults (and increasing rapidly) while the next highest process, explorer.exe, would only have 50 thousand pagefaults. My harddrive grinds non-stop. When I killed the process, no more rediculous amounts of page faulting. Any resolves?

Hello, I’m reusing this, because I’ve got exactly the same problem since I started a huge download via BitTorrent (FedoraCore 5 DVD).

Isn’t it weird, that this problem still occurs while this thread is so old?
Shouldn’t that be fixed in the meantime?

Well any suggestions to this probably old problem with probably huge files?

Thanks in advance.

I’m using the Avast managed client…but, see my posts (especially the latest one) in the following thread:
