Hello, it seems when I reload many webpages (tabs) in Firefox, ashSimple.exe uses very high cpu to the point of starving Firefox and Outpost therefore, it seems, causing prolonged page loading (a few minutes and i’m on cable). I think Firefox needs more CPU to send request to Outpost - it’s not happening as long as ashsimple is hanging onto CPU

**edit - opps, I forgot I was running an “on demand” scan

ashSimpl.exe is simply the on-demand scanner - it doesn’t run normally (its the skinned GUI)

what does this mean exactly? Cause if I don’t really need it on for security I want it off.

What does what mean?
nobuddy forgot that he was running a on-demand scan (using a Simple User Interface) and was wondering what is taking so much of his CPU. Of course, it was the on-demand scanner, it had nothing to do with Firefox, Outpost or loading of web pages.
So, you don’t have to worry about the resident protection taking a lot of your CPU.

Correct. But now it is ashserv that is using high cpu. It has become difficult at times to use my computer while resident is running. Its also very high upon start up.
Are you sure that you do not schedule a on-demand scanning?
Are you using Pro (or Trial) version?

I would know if on demand were running

Same here i wondered why but its because you are scanning the hard drive.

I am performing no on demand scan. I have uninstalled Avast, as well as many others have done the same for using too much CPU - especially when booting.
