OK guys I keep getting the same “ASHWEBSV.EXE has encountered a prob…” message, I am somewhat computer literate but I don’t quite understand some of the things this forum talks about using to troubleshoot this problem. I chased down that HJT program just now and am gonna DL it and try to use it to see what is going on.
I am using Firefox as my browser and everything is up to date version wise. As far as more info on the error, Avast pops up a window saying that ashwebsv.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close, and nothing else. After that I get a MS window that wants to inform BillBorg what has happened but I dont see any problems after the program quits. This is very puzzling cuz I don’t use the proxy in my browsing and I checked the connections tab in FF and it is set to direct connection to the internet.
I keep my versions and virus info up to date and my PC seems to be clean so Whats up with this???
