We will need more information to be able to help you:
- Which OS are you using? Is it up to date?
- What avast! version and VPS file (virus database) number?
- What was the filename and path where the virus was found or the url of the website?
- Which actions have you taken to try solving the problem?
- Do you use a firewall? Which one?
- Do you have any other antivirus installed in your system? Did you have in the past?
- Any other security programs that could interfere?
- In XP/Vista, is there any useful information into Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Events, specially ‘Errors’?
Which OS are you using? Is it up to date?
XP pro. yes. totaly up to date
What avast! version and VPS file (virus database) number?
4,8 home 090623-0
What was the filename and path where the virus was found or the url of the website?
so far no virus that i know of. the problem is on all urls as long as the site is refreshed.
Which actions have you taken to try solving the problem?
so far i only tryed to stop the web shield. that works as long as the file stops. but that only happens every 5 rebots or so. when i stop the web shield the ashwebsv.exe should be terminated, but its not.
Do you use a firewall? Which one?
sygate personal firewall.
Do you have any other antivirus installed in your system? Did you have in the past?
no. only been running avast on this pc sinse it was new.
Any other security programs that could interfere?
not that i can think of. spybot S\D and adaware both been disabled without any difference in mem use by avast.
In XP/Vista, is there any useful information into Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Events, specially ‘Errors’?
not realy. was 2 “The avast! Web Scanner service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).”
Well, which site?
any site.
i can refresh facebook or the lockal news paper and get the same result.
even refreshing this site to get up your replys.
So the problem could not be on the sites but in your computer.
Please, run a full scan with avast and MBAM (or SUPERantispyware or even Spyware Terminator) to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete them.
tnx.
wil do.
just by having this site open and refreshing every 5 minutes have made the file using a wopping 700+ mb.
